Simple Hourly Billing
Many computer service companies charge you set fees for specific tasks. This means that your costs can quickly escalate out of control. We offer a simple hourly rate. Regardless of what tasks you need performed, you pay for the time our tech actually spends helping you.
We have a one hour minimum bill instead of a large trip charge. This means that if we solve your problem in less than an hour, you have the rest of that hour to have us address any other issues or questions you may have without it costing you a dime extra. You can also combine multiple major tasks and often save money if we can multitask or if each task takes less than an hour. You only pay for the time we spend, not for each task.
Hourly billing also means that you can have us come to you to fix a handful of small problems rather than one big one without having to worry about getting a huge bill for every little fix.
Here are some common tasks we perform for our clients, and estimates of how long they usually take:
- Wireless networking setup
Less than an hour, with time left over for other issues.
- Virus/spyware removal
1 to 2 hours in most cases.
- Adding a device to existing wireless network
Mere minutes if you have your wireless security information and the device we are adding is in proper working order. If you already have us out for other tasks, this will add almost nothing to your total bill.
- Data transfer from old computer
Less than one hour if the old computer's drive is in working order.
- New computer setup
1 to 2 hours, including data transfer. We can usually transfer your files while working on other aspects of the setup, saving you time and money.
- Setting up backups
Less than one hour unless you have an extremely large amount of data. If you have so much data that testing the backup takes a while, we can usually do other things for you while your backup runs.
- Email setup
Mere minutes. If you already have us on site for another task, this adds almost nothing to the time we spend on site, so it adds almost nothing to your bill.
- Printer setup
Mere minutes. If you already have us on site for another task, this adds almost nothing to the time we spend on site, so it adds almost nothing to your bill.
- Tutorials
Varies. Most users find that we can go through a list of questions they have about things like email, photo manipulation, or a particular piece of software in under an hour.
Please note that due to recent gas price increases we have been forced to add a gas surcharge of $5 for clients in the metro area. For clients who are outside of the metro, contact us for rates.
Residential Rates
For residential work we charge $75/hour, with a one hour minimum. This is our price regardless of what you need us to do. We even offer one-on-one tutoring, all at the same rate.
If you are having an emergency and need guaranteed same-day service, we can do that. If we have to adjust our schedules and rush a tech out to you, we charge $150/hour.
Business Rates
We bill business customers $100/hour due to the added complexity of most business' requirements. The other side of that coin is that in situations with multiple computers we are often able to multitask more effectively, letting something run on one computer while we work on another.
If you are having an emergency and need guaranteed same-day service, we can do that. If we have to adjust our schedules and rush a tech out to you, we charge $200/hour.
